About Us

The Creative Tours Belfast team is passionate about the vibrant city that modern Belfast is today and loves to share their enthusiasm for its great music, theatre, art, street art and literature with visitors and locals. And this considerable talent is being recognised. Did you know, for example, that Belfast is a designated UNESCO City of Music, one of 59 creative cities worldwide? Or that an artists’ collective in the city, the Array Collective, was awarded in 2021 one of the best-known visual arts prizes, the Turner Prize?

We specialise in offering guided walking tours on the music and other creative arts of Belfast. We will take you to many special spots off the beaten track, introduce you to Belfast people in some special venues and offer advice on what’s on during your visit. We can also offer tours to introduce you to the city.

Private Tours

All of our tours may be booked for conference, corporate, family and other groups. A tour can be tailored especially around your interests, combining several themes, to meet your requirements. We can arrange tour custom tour to last between two hours and a full day. To enquire about a private or group tour, at a competitive rate, simply email Dolores: CreativeToursBelfast@gmail.com

We can also provide step on guiding services for a coach or accompany self-drive visitors.

Why Creative Tours Belfast?

Why Creative Tours Belfast?

We have great local knowledge of Belfast. Let us save you research time by taking you directly to the parts of our city that will be of the most interest to you. The best music venues, the coolest arts centres, the less-well known but brilliant exhibition displays, hidden gems, iconic buildings, historic ‘entries’ and new street art.

Our in-depth and specialist knowledge of Belfast’s music heritage and current music scene, across all genres, makes our music tours the best to book. The team used to publish a Belfast arts magazine, ‘In Belfast’ and still forensically absorbs information on all that is taking place in the city’s art galleries, theatres, literary groups, clubs and pubs – and attends a lot of it too!

Our passion shines through in all our tours – whether public or tailored especially for your private group.

Your Guide

Your Guide

Hi, I’m Dolores and I’ve lived in Belfast for most of my live. I set up Creative Tours Belfast in 2021 because I loved showing visitors around the city in a previous role and decided this was what I wanted to do full-time. I am a professionally qualified and insured Belfast Green Badge Tourist Guide, a qualification awarded by the UK-wide Institute of Tourist Guiding (ITG). I am a member of ITG and of the Northern Ireland Tourist Guide Association. I also hold a Master of Arts degree from the University of St Andrews, in English with French and Spanish, (and have reasonable spoken French and Spanish).

Previously I worked for many years, in London and then back in Belfast, as a journalist, editor and publisher in book, magazine and newspaper publishing, and have also run a PR and publishing services consultancy. (This included setting up a new ‘In Belfast’ arts magazine for a time.) More recently, I held Communications and Public Engagement posts at one of Belfast’s Universities. I like to think that my years as a writer and editor help me to craft a plethora of entertaining stories to share with guests on my tours

I am a passionate and knowledgeable music and arts fan, with a particular expertise in the music heritage of Belfast and the current music scene across all genres. I played the Bodhran (the drum of traditional Irish music) from a young age, progressing to a rock drum kit. I have experience of both singing and drumming (badly) in bands, and have written and recorded my own songs. I’ve helped to run Girls Rock School Northern Ireland and am currently a member of the Cathedral Quarter Choir and the OTH Music Collective.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Creative Tours Belfast want to show you the best of Belfast that matches your areas of interest and to ensure that you have a thoroughly enjoyable experience on our tour. We think taking a guided tour with a local person with specialist knowledge can add more to your time in Belfast than you could achieve with your own research – and hope you agree after we part! During our time together, we can answer your questions, make suggestions and recommendations and share our own real-life experience of life in Belfast.

What Guests Say

What Guest Say
"Dolores was an excellent tour guide who was fun, relaxed, knew the facts and delivered them in a friendly, comprehensible way. I was very proud to hear that Belfast was a trailblazer for anti-slavery campaigning back in the 1790s."
